William F. Yurasko's (www.yurasko.net) has great Washington Nationals news, photos, videos and more
Entering their sixth season (wow, already?!) the Washington Nationals appear to finally have a MLB quality front office after two years of MLB rule and another three years of excuses and Jim Bowden. At long last, the Lerner ownership seems to be following The Plan that Stan Kasten but didn...
MASN (Malevolent Angelos Sports Network) is putting all of the Washington Nationals 2010 games in HD. This is a rare sign of competence from the inept, anti-Nats/DC network owned and operated by Peter Angelos. Gutless MLB Commissioner Bud Selig agreed to a corrupt bargain with Angelos ju...
The New York Yankees winning their 40th American League pennant is cause for celebration in and of itself. The 2009 World Series has more going for it than that though. For the third time, the Yankees have won the pennant when they open/re-open a stadium -- 1923 Yankee Stadium's first year, 1...
The Nationals filled a front office vacancy with Roy Clark, former Atlanta Braves scouting director and star of Hee Haw! Hopefully, he will bring his banjo and the Hee Haw honeys. Washington Nationals, Nats, Roy Clark, Atlanta Braves©MMIX William F. Yurasko
New York Yankees - They are my AL team; my grandfather was born and raised on 161th Street in the South Bronx (same street as both Yankee Stadiums) and my mother worked for them during the end of the Mickey Mantle era. For the record, I am Swiss in games between the Nats and Yankees.
Elijah Dukes has the chance to be more than just the starting rightfielder, he could be a star. He seems be doing okay on the baseball side of things, but outside the lines he is still troubled, though he may be slowly realizing how to conduct himself. Still, if a sportswriter brings up his off-...

Frank Howard was let go from the "lifetime" contract he signed with George Steinbrenner when the sons took over, something Howard does not seem to mind too much. Since he is available, the Nationals have to hire him, period. It would be a good step on fixing the franchise's identity problem.
Oh and apparently, Emilio Garcia-Ruiz forgot what city The Post as in The Washington Post is in. The sports editor did not run any Nats stories while Baltimore's team was covered. Here's a hint of what to do tomorrow -- run this Chico Harlan Q&A with Manny Acta from the Nationals Journal b...
After reading yet another article (The Post) on how tough it is being Stan Kasten, I decided to diagram the hierarchy of power within the Nationals franchiseThe Lerners V Jim Bowden V Stan Kasten V Manny Acta Washington Nationals, Nats, Stan Kasten, Jim Bowden©MMVIII William F. Yurasko
Mickey Vernon was one of the most popular D.C. baseball players ever and probably the best first baseman. He died this week. I don't know if this was acknowledged at Nationals Park as his death may not have been known until after the home season ended. Given that he was from outside of Philly, I won...
